About Torq Auto Leasing
A Metro Detroit lease broker for people who already know what they want
Why I started Torq
I got into the car business almost by accident. I finished school planning to go straight to grad school and took what was supposed to be a gap year first. I'd always wanted to work in the car industry, so that's where the year went. I never left.
A few years in, I've built my career on the brokerage side, working with clients all over Metro Detroit. I started Torq to do it the way I always thought it should be done: you tell me what you want, I bring you a number, and the car shows up at your house.

What a broker actually is
Torq isn't a dealership. We don't own inventory, we don't have a lot, and there's nothing sitting here we need to move off the books before the end of the month. We're the middleman in the transaction, which means we aren't tied to one store's stock or one store's targets.
That's the whole advantage. We can source the same vehicle from several dealers at once and compare what each one will actually do on price, incentives, and terms. You're not the one sitting across a desk negotiating. We do that part, in a few places at the same time, and bring you back the number.
Who we're good for, and who we're not
Being straight about this saves everybody time.
We're a good fit if you already know what you want. Maybe you've driven the car, maybe you've owned one before, maybe you've just done your reading. You don't need to be sold on anything. You want a fair number on a specific vehicle and you'd rather not lose a Saturday getting it.
Most of the clients I've worked with are self-employed. They don't have four hours to spend at a dealership only to find out at the desk that the price isn't the price anymore. They know the car, they want it at a decent number, and they want it delivered.
We're probably not your first stop if you're still deciding. If you want to drive four different cars back to back and see how they feel, go do that. A showroom is genuinely good for exactly that. Come back once you know what you want and we'll go get it.
Personal and business leases
Plenty of our clients lease in their business name instead of their own, usually for tax reasons. We do both, and there's a separate credit application for each. Whether it makes sense for you is a question for your accountant. Once you've decided, we'll build the deal around it.
How it works
- Tell us what you want. Make, model, trim, the options you actually care about, and roughly how many miles a year you drive.
- We shop it. We check what the manufacturers are running that month and go to dealers who have the car or can get it, then compare what comes back.
- You see the numbers. Payment, term, mileage allowance, and what's due at signing, all before you've committed to anything.
- We handle the paperwork. Once you approve the deal we run the credit application and sort out the lease documents with the dealer.
- The car comes to you. Delivery is complimentary. For most clients, the first time they touch the car is in their own driveway.
Where we work
We're based in Birmingham and most of our business is Metro Detroit: Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties and everything around them. We can do out-of-state deals too, but Michigan is home and it's where we do the most work.
If you know the car you want, tell us and we'll get you a number.
